About Me

Hello, I'm Art Webb of This is ART. I play BASS and am currently working on music production as well as studying business at the local community college. I perform a side project called DJ Doubleclik where I drop phat bass lines to original cuts on my laptop with a drummer backing me up.

This is ART music is free to everyone & anyone willing to listen. This flavor of music is specifically made for me. I love Classic Rock so there's a heavy influence of psychedelic instrumentation in the music. There's also a blend of hip-hop and electronic music weaved into the sound. I rap on the hip-hop stuff and jam out with the psychedelic stuff. The two sounds cover a wide span of genres: One sound might represent anything from blues to prog rock to funk to fusion. The other end might represent anything from jazz to hip-hop to afro/reggae to rap. And since its created with electronics I tend to mix up the drum&bass/dance sound into the overall mix.

I currently use an audio interface (2/2) with Ableton Live 6 on a PowerBook G4 for recording, production and live looping. Much arranging and decisions are made internally once I lay down an idea. I'll usually establish drums and bass with a hook to start off a song and work from there. I record ideas to my cellphone which is a catalyst for new material.
