Started by Shohei Mitani, a highly respected DJ in the Tokyo club scene, Japan’s Novo Tempo is a live outfit that consists of members, Akimasa Yamada (Programmer), Saigenji (Guitar & Vocal), Airbus aka Satoshi Higuchi (guitar), Tadashi Wako (base), Masashi Yamaguchi (keyboard) and Kazuo Yoshida (flute).
Novo Tempo’s blend of improvised Jazz and electronic sound has gained much attention from both the media such as Straight No Chaser and notable DJs/artists like Gilles Peterson, Kev Beedle, Frankie Valentine, Ian O’Brien and Laurent Garnier with releases from Flower Records and the Blue Café compilations.
