The Twinkles

don't forget the heaven 1977...

About Me

The Twinkles born in October ’96 with the following line up: Nick Mess (vocals, lead guitar), True (drums, chorus), Marky (guitar, chorus), Linda (bass, chorus). The line up changes till July ’99 when they decide to continue playing in three. On June 2000 they make a mini tour of two dates in Slovakia, arranged by the punk band Zona A. On the beginning of October 2001 The Twinkles come back to the 4 persons set up and they debut 14th October 2001. The Giorgione square in Castelfranco Veneto is fully packed with 2000 frantic fans. It’s time again for foreign dates. The historic Czech punk band, NVU, takes interest to the Italian combo and calls our band for a mini- tour of three dates, Prague, Ricany and Pardubice at the end of November. Three phenomenal gigs welcome by a fantastic audience. 2002 is another brilliant year for The Twinkles: they keep promoting the first album in Italy and they make a German tour receiving great consents. Better goes the gig at the “Anti-Fest”, punk festival in Svojice (Czech Republic) where there are about 40 bands taking part!!!! Between the others: Chelsea, Vibrators, Angelic Upstarts, Guitar Gangsters, Red Alert, Vice Squad, Zona A and TV Smith. 2003 is not a good year for The Twinkles: they finish to record the new album at the end of March but this will be out much time later. In 2004 they take part at three competitions: Rockon, Emergenza Festival and Arezzo Wave. They get an historic third place at the Veneto regional final of Arezzo Wave festival. Some negative reasons delay the release of the new cd “Belle Epoque” that will be out on December 2004. The printing is made by Wizzard-In-Vinyl Records, a Japanese label from Tokyo specialised in punk rock, mod e powerpop. 2005 is a year with many concerts thanks to “Belle Epoque” promotion. The Twinkles made their first European tour, 10 consecutive gigs in Austria, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Germany. It went like a storm. At the end of March 2006 they release the split cd “Ready Steady Go! For Dirty Play” with Street Spirit, a punk rock band from Slovakia. The following month they make 4 dates in Europe. Among these stands the best ever gig of The Twinkles: 16th April 2006 in Bratislava where the kids sing together all the songs from the first to the last. But the satisfactions are not finished yet: the punk-rock band reaches the final of Heineken Jammin' Festival Contest after has stayed choice between 2212 bands in all Italy. The Twinkles play on the stage Saturday 17 June (Headliner: Metallica + The Darkness, Avenged Seven Fold, Coil Gap, Living Thing, Trivium). That’s for sure the most important result in The Twinkles career. But stay tuned on Radio Rock; the history goes on…. www.myspaceeditor.it
