Bio:

Born in Praia Da Vitoria, TerÃ§eira, AÃ§ores, Portugal in 1972 to a very dynamic and creative family. I have a mother who nurtured my creative outlets as a child. Always inspired, even now, by her creations. My father, was a scrimshaw artist (whale friendly) in the late '70's into the '90's. He is mostly responsible for my love for the sea and all things nautical. I had not discovered my passion for Photography until 1989. My aunt lent me her Canon AE-1 for a high school photography class. I made attempts at the craft from learning techniques from photo magazines and what ever book I could get my hands on from the library. But, lack of critique and insight stunted my creative growth. In 1993 I decided what I needed was a school to truly understand the tools in my hands. Perhaps, the greatest experience of my life. 88 potential photographers as hungry as I for the need to "know" how to make beauty from controlling light.
Since graduating in 1994, I've had my life trials, successes and failures but I'm "here now".
I've since made another decision; To fully commit myself to my craft. To be known as such.
