THE 64s

TRIUMPH & DISASTER NOW AVAILABLE!!

About Me

The 64’s formed in October 2004, known at first as Last Man Standing, under a collective need to write and perform, foot to the floor, passionate, hard hitting, melodic rock music and over the past year they have played numerous gigs in and around their home town of St. Albans and London.Influenced by contemporary groups such as Foo Fighters, Audioslave, Smashing Pumpkins, Incubus, Queens of the Stone Age, along with the more established Queen, The Police, ACDC and the great live bands of the seventies (that produced a “show” every time they went on stage), The 64s bring an edge and melody to their music, which transcends age and taste, to produce a sound everyone will love. The 64’s play hard and furious but do not deny their inherent pop sensibility, which contributes a passion, originality and attitude that has been sorely lacking from rock in the last few years.Via Darren’s heavy-duty guitar riffing, Al Rainbow’s “take no prisoners” bass attitude and Dave’s solid, considered drumming, Christian’s sublime and effortless vocals, where MELODY is everything, any given 64’s song will take you on a definitive and perfect rock journey…When they play live, The 64’s insist… No, demand to have FUN and this is what they want to offer everyone who appreciates good live rock bands and everyone who makes the effort to support them. It’s due to their intense, energetic live performances, they have built up a considerable following, by word of mouth, without press coverage… The 64’s mission is to bring original, live rock music back to the people in a stance against the glut of mass produced, manufactured bands that are currently choking up the system. In the meantime, The 64’s intend to keep writing, keep recording, to play as many gigs as possible and to refine their sound, so by this summer they will be ready for the festival circuit. The world should keep an eye firmly fixed on The 64’s or they will find they have sneaked into their sub-conscious and music collection without them realising it.I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)
