After being together for only three weeks, they played at a ‘Pimps & Hoes’ party with an impressive 15 original songs developed in an impossiblysmall time frame, and subsequently ripped the roof off! Theyreleased their debut EP ‘Corridors’ in December, 2007. Sincethen they have played at multiple venues around Adelaide,and have built a name for themselves and a fanbase. Theirnatural musical ability, raw intensity, and ‘Aussielarrikin’ humour ensures an entertaining show every time.They combine melodic vocals and unique chord progressionswhile staying true to thier hard rock passion. StraitjacketFashion have many influences, however they mimic none. Theyhave very different compositions and style compared to otherbands in the same genre. Many critics have told them theywill go a long way in the music industry.
SIME has writtena truckload of songs and recorded, mixed, and mastered twosolo albums independently, as well has played in variousbands and acoustic duos (Throb, Plan B, Catch22, Scene ofthe Crime…). He plays multiple musical instruments and hashundreds of influences, and musical tastes. He is theprimary songwriter of the band. His energy and humorousantics combined with a unique vocal tone and skillful guitarlicks make him an entertaining front man for the band.
RY has long beenan acoustic guitarist with exceptional musical ability, butawakening to an epiphany one morning, he suddenly realisedhis destined musical purpose; BASS GUITAR! Ryan’s bass riffcreations have received infinite praise from wellestablished musicians. His backing vocals compliment Simon’slead vocals perfectly as they have been playing and writingmusic together from a young age.
TOMSY firstpicked up a set of drumsticks in the midst of his youth tofill in for a band. The universe was at once harmonious asnatures intended plan was finally fulfilled! He commenced asongwriting journey and has perfected the craft. He has beeninvolved in many successful original bands (Ebony Web,Fortress, Nightshade) and cover bands (Eleven, The RockDogs), with whom has released several independent EP’s. Heis a talented singer with a huge voice, and has been thedrummer/lead singer in most of the bands he has participatedin. His drumming technique is not short of brilliant. Healso performs lead vocals on his own compositions inStraitjacket Fashion’s repertoire.
