About Me

Hi everyone! Corvettes, Classic Movies, Surf and Garage Rock, and staying healthy. That's me in a nutshell!! I've been involved with Corvettes since 1976 and I just recently reached a point in my life where I can say that I'm going to be published. I have a Corvette racing text book that I've been working on for the past ten years, and it's about to be published! I started out repairing Corvettes which led to rebuilding and restoring them later on. Along the way, I aquired quite a bit of information about Corvettes.
If you have a Corvette or ever wanted a Corvette, then you need this book. It covers all the essential high performance features that made the Corvette what it is today.
Did you know that the one and only Corvette plant was in St. Louis from 1954 to 1982? Corvettes were everywhere in the 70's. My Corvette book has it all. From dual quad Sebring racers all the way up to the big inch ZL1 John Greenwood winged wonders. But you know what, the L88 Corvette is the main feature of this book. The complete history of the L88 big block wonder is in this book. Did you know that big block Corvettes were racing back in 1963? Well, you can see for yourself in my book. All the greats are featured: Dr. Dick Thompson, Zora Arkus Duntov, Bill Mitchell, Roger Penske, Dick Guldstrand, Bob Bondurant, Don Yenko, Tony DeLorenzo, Jerry Thompson, Bob Johnson, John Greenwood, and more! Z06 Corvettes, Lightweight Grand Sport Corvettes, A Production Factory L88 SCCA racers, IMSA flyers and others. Oh by the way, if you think this book is just a re-hash of all the other Corvette books that are out there, well, you are in for a big surprise. The majority of this book is filled with never before published photos and information. All the other Corvette books out there are incomplete because they are missing chunks of Corvette history. If you are going to have only one book about Corvettes, this will be the one to have. I'll post a link when I have a webpage dedicated to the introduction of the book. In the meanwhile, you can check out my Corvette website at Corvette Pete's Website
Several years ago, I was voted "Faster than Steve McQueen and most likely to replace John Wayne in the movies". I've been staying as healthy as possible by eating properly and working out several times a week. I started to write the Corvette book because I was getting tired of waiting for the casting call for the remake of "Le Mans".
As you can probably tell from my space here, I really like Surf Music and most forms of music that you just don't hear on regular radio stations. I really like the bands I listed and have many of their CDs. I guess I'll have to get the guitar back out and re-learn some good chords!
I'm not a workout fanatic, but like I said, I do work out several times a week. As I've become older, I've found that Vitamin supplements have been essential to maintain good health and fitness. If I come across some really good vitamins, I'll let all of you know about them.
I enjoy driving Corvettes and other sports cars and muscle cars. I've done more than my fair share of engine rebuilds.
Keep visiting my space here for new updates. Corvette Pete
