MyGen
Profile GeneratorStar of stage, screen and television. I'm the last living member of the Magnificent Seven movies, I'm Napoleon Solo, the Man From U.N.C.L.E. and I was even a cast member of the A-Team during their fifth season. I played Lee in The Magnificent Seven. I also later portrayed Judge Oren Travis in the television version, The Magnificent Seven (1998). I was also the only actor to appear in both. My very first film was The Ten Commandments. It also starred my future The Magnificent Seven co-star Yul Brynner. I also appeared in three different films with Steve McQueen: The Magnificent Seven, Bullitt and The Towering Inferno.
I have appeared in episodes of three different series with David McCallum: The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Please Don't Eat the Daisies and The A-Team. I was one of the first actors to play the same character (Napoleon Solo) on three different series: The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Please Don't Eat the Daisies and The Girl from U.N.C.L.E.
I was a close friend of the late Senator Robert F. Kennedy. The California Democratic Party originally wanted me to challenge Ronald Reagan for Governor. Even though I am a moderate Democrat and disliked Reagan, I refused and instead stood behind Governor Brown, who lost the election to Reagan. Another possible candidate was Gregory Peck.
