About Me

I'm a thinker. And a dreamer. And a performer at heart. I love to be on stage, and I spend as much time there a possible... Sometimes as a singer/fiddle player. Sometimes as an actor/dancer. I love philosophy and logic and conversations that go deeper than the weather. I have a weakness for Dulce de Leche ice cream, and I get easily addicted to good novels.

My Interests

Peforming of almost any kind - I crave it.
Musical Theatre - is my first love, I suppose.
Violin/Fiddle - will always be an integral part of who I am. I've discovered that there's no escaping it, and that's okay.
New York street vendors coffee and bagels - I miss it!
Philosophy and Debating - invigorate my brain.
Reading novels - is my favorite way to spend a few free moments (or hours).
Playing games with friends - is one of my favorite ways to spend an evening and no money!
Hosting parties - gives me a thrill and yet another creative outlet.
Planning weddings - Definitely a future career.
Drawing, Cooking, Decorating, ... and the list goes on.

I'd like to meet:

Cinderella, the Genie in the Lamp, Harry Potter, Mary Poppins, Willie Wonka and anyone else magical! Wouldn't that be nifty?!

Music:

Regina Carter (Contemporary Jazz Violinist), Alanis Morisette, Vanessa Mae (Rock Violinist), Broadway Musicals, Big Band & Swing, Ragtime Music, Good ol' Texas Country

Movies:

The Scarlet Pimpernel, 1982, has been my favorite movie for as long as I can remember. Anthony Andrews, Jane Seymour, Ian McKellen. Passion. Romance. Wit. Bravery. Sword fights. Disguises. Intrigue. And big gorgeous costumes. It's got it all. Knotting Hill, White Christmas, Office Space, Return to Me, Shrek, just to name a few others.

Television:

What's that?

Books:

Anything by Nora Roberts. Harry Potter, of course. Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. Other authors like Tom Clancy, John Grisham, Isaac Adamson. And more philosophical books when I'm in the mood. Some of my personal favorites: The Philosophy Gym by Steven Law, Sophie's World by Jostein Gaarder.

Heroes:

My brother, 1st Lieutenant Neil Rackley, who recently came back safely from a year in Iraq. His wife (and one of my best friends), 1st Lietenant Yael Blanton. And all the other brave men and women serving their country overseas.

What do refrigerators, writing music, tires, Thai food and pool all have in common?

That's what I did today! I went with Shoshana to get her tires changed, and while they did that, we ran (through the rain) across the street to Thai Jasmine Restaurant for lunch. I've been craving Tha...

Starbucks is SO last year.

I've fallen in love with New York coffee - the kind sold by the street vendors and the little bodegas that are on every other corner. I don't know what it is, but I can't seem to recreate it at home. ...

I'm back in the land of the living!

So it took me long enough, but I'm finally back. As a matter of fact, for those of you who don't know, I'm back in Dallas for the summer! And I just found out a few hours ago that I was cast as Belle ...

They weren't kidding...

Everyone warned me about third semester at AMDA.  And yet their dire predictions didn't even skim the surface of the workload that I'm currently drowning in. So I basically have no free time and ...

Who'd've thunk?

When I woke up this morning it was nine degrees outside!  Ten degrees below zero with the wind chill.  Ouch!  So this is the winter I've been dreading and had almost begun to belie...

Christmas at JFK Airport

We missed our flight.  We went to sleep at 2:00 am and got up at 3:30 am to shower and finish packing and all that stuff.  (I figured I could sleep on the flight.)  We left our apartmen...
