About Me

Hello,My real name is Marie Soto. I live in San Antonio, Texas in a small house with my four cats. I teach Middle Eastern Belly Dance with the Baile Artistico Dance Studio. Our dancers are available for birthday parties, weddings, conventions, festivals, fairs, parades, fund-raisers,Fiesta events, haflas, and other dance events. I am also available for private lessons. In my professional life, I'm a licensed professional counselor certified in hypnotherapy.

My Interests

World Music and Cultures; all forms of dance including Belly Dance, Flamenco, Ballet, Modern, and Jazz.

I'd like to meet:

Other folks interested in dance and expanding the mind through metaphysical pursuits. Professionally, I would like to meet other counselors who practice CBT and hypnosis. I would like information regarding opportunities for CEU classes in CBT and psychopharmacology especially for the elderly.

Music:

I'm a huge Tarkan fan; World Music and Middle Eastern; Latin Jazz, Salsa, Merengue, Flamenco; a fan of Godsmack, Creed, and whatever suits my fancy at the time. Don't get into country too much...

Movies:

Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, The Matrix; What Dreams May Come, Spiderman; almost anything with Owen Wilson and Robin Williams in it; mostly Sci-fi, action, and comedy; some drama and chick-flicks.

Television:

Stargate SG-1; Stargate Atlantis; Heroes; Kyle XY; Ugly Betty; Gilmore Girls; Dr. Who; Mind of Mencia, Family Guy, Dancing With the Stars, So You Think You Can Dance; Fan of Travel Channel, Discovery Channel, HGTV, and Sci-Fi channels (wow...I'm just a regular cable junkie).

Books:

Fiction: Harry Potter; mostly Sci-Fi/Fantasy; anything by Terry Brooks, Greg Bear, and Ben Bova.Non Fiction: Metaphysical and philosophy...Big fan of Stewart and Janet Swerdlow, David Icke; government conspiracy and anything having to do with the mind.

Heroes:

Dancers: Aziza cause she's such a beautiful and graceful dancer and has a great personality. Sara Naadirah for her incredible strength and spirit when she dances.
