I'd like to meet:
I'd like to meet anyone who can enhance my life and make me laugh. I don't want to meet you though if you dislike cats - or any other animal for that matter. :)
These are some of my favorite quotes that reflect who I am & what I believe:
"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving
safely in a handsome and well-preserved body but rather to skid in
broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming "WOW, what a great ride that was!!!"
"We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give."
"Live life fully while you're here. Experience everything. Take care of yourself and your friends. Have fun, be crazy, be weird. Go out and screw up! You're going to anyway, so you might as well enjoy the process. Take the opportunity to learn from your mistakes: find the cause of your problem and eliminate it. Don't try to be perfect; just be an excellent example of being human.â€
- Anthony Robbins
"Life is a grindstone. Whether it grinds us down or polishes us up depends on us."
- Thomas L. Holdcroft
"Do not pray for a lighter load, but for a stronger back."
"You shouldn't have to sacrifice who you are just because somebody else has a problem with it."
- Carrie Bradshaw, Sex and the City
"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."
- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.-
"Look to this day for it is life. The very life of life. The realities & verities of existence, the bliss of growth, the splendor of power. For yesterday is but a dream and tomorrow is only a vision, but today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness and every tomorrow a vision of hope. Look well, therefore, to this day."
- Sanskrit Proverb
"I am not one of those who believe - broadly speaking- that women are better than men. We have not wrecked railroads, nor corrupted legislatures, nor done many unholy things that men have done; but then we must remember that we have not had the chance."
- Jane Addams
"Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea."
-Robert A. Heinlein
"A woman is only destined to have her heart broken if she herself hands it over to someone too weak, too careless or too distracted to hang on to it."
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change the things I can; and the wisdom to know the difference.
It Is Better To Be Alone, Than In The Wrong Company
Tell me who your best friends are, and I will tell you who you are. If you run with wolves, you will learn how to howl. But, if you associate with eagles, you will learn how to soar to great heights. "A mirror reflects a man's face, but what he is really like is shown by the kind of friends he chooses." The simple but true fact of life is that you become like those with whom you closely associate - for the good and the bad.
The less you associate with some people, the more your life will improve. Any time you tolerate mediocrity in others, it increases your mediocrity. An important attribute in successful people is their impatience with negative thinking and negative acting people. As you grow, your associates will change. Some of your friends will not want you to go on. They will want you to stay where they are.
Friends who don't help you climb will want you to crawl. Your friends will stretch your vision or choke your dream. Those that don't increase you will eventually decrease you.
Consider this: Never receive counsel from unproductive people. Never discuss your
problems with someone incapable of contributing to the solution, because those who never succeed themselves are always first to tell you how.
Not everyone has a right to speak into your life. You are certain to get the worst of the bargain when you exchange ideas with the wrong person. Don't follow anyone who's not going anywhere. With some people you spend an evening: with others you invest it. Be careful where you stop to inquire for directions along the road of life.
