RED NETTLE are a four piece band from Southend who have been a tearing up the underground music scene with their unique blend of crushing riffs and urgent melodic vocals for the past three years.
The band are influenced by music that is played with integrity, honesty and that pushes the boundries of what heavy rock is. The obvious influences are bands such as Tool, Mastodon, Dream Theatre and Helmet and also the early Southend Hardcore scene with bands such as Cynical Smile and Above All.
The band strive to produce rock music that is at odds with the formulaic and mundane and their songs are a representation of their intense passion for innovative, heart felt, heavy rock music. With their independently released self titled EP selling out in record stores and having built up an extensive fan base as a result of their blistering live sets the band were asked to release an EP via the independent record label Genin records, which has released the critically acclaimed Djevara and Silent Front records and is a great champion of some of the most exciting up and coming UK bands.
Thus the self financed labour of love that is the Continuosity EP was born and was recorded at New Rising Studios with producer Mark Daghorn who has worked with Marillion and Orange Goblin to name but a few. The EP was released to mass critical and commercial success. The band are now in the process of writing new material that they hope to release soon. The new work sees the band upping their game yet again in terms of musicianship and also demonstrates their unique ability to combine dazzling arrangements of monstrous riff's scattered with ambient interludes, overplayed with an intense vocal passion.
