Nice shoes, wanna dance?

About Me

My name is Aaron, and I was born in Minneapolis. I am now living in St. Paul and going to school at Hamline University. I run MNSKA with some friends, so I book and promote ska, rocksteady, and reggae shows in the Twin Cities. Music keeps my sane; therefore I embrace it enormously. I live my life with pride, conviction, compassion, honor and virtue as best I can. I like to drink good beer with good people and listen to good music, all night long.---- peace ----AIM - rudiegetsplenty

My Interests

My wheels don't roll if it ain't got SOUL.

I'd like to meet:

I enjoy meeting people in real life, but if you enjoy good music and culture and aren't a total dipshit, i am sure that we will get along just fine. life is too short to make ememies, so i'm only looking for more friends. Before you add me (BANDS ESPECIALLY!), send me a message first.

Music:

I love early (late 50s to early 70s) Jamaican music and soul music. I'm also a fan of punk, hip hop, and good ol' rock 'n; roll. I had a plethora of bands listed before, but you get the idea.As far as Jamaican music goes, I don't just own a Desmond Dekker record and call myself a big fan. I am an aspiring record collector always looking for the hottest rare gems ever produced. The Skatalites, soulful rocksteady, and good skinhead reggae get my feet moving.I love Northern Soul cuz it makes me wanna shake my ass, and I love the songs that make you wanna sing all day and night, like Sam Cooke.Punk rock and Oi are true loves for sure, but so much of it is total shit, especially a lot of the crap coming out now. 77 punk, early 80s hardcore, classic Oi and modern bands like the templars and Perkele are keeping the faith.I love underground and conscious hip hop, especially the masters A Tribe Called Quest. MPLS hip hop is solid gold as well.I play in three bands. Check em out on myspace if you get curious. the Prizefighters (guitar and vocals) GYLBOTS (drums) Umbrella Bed Guitar)
