About Me

The 6th Street Jazzers were formed in April 2007, by members of the Cal State LA Jazz Lab. In order to continue jamming, and make a few bucks on the side, Mike, Aaron, and Jesus began rehearsing at the MacArthur Park Community Center on 6th Street. After just one rehearsal, Mike invited Eric and Max Brodin to join the group. In order to get off and running, the 6th Street Jazzers focused on standard tunes they had studied in the Jazz Lab, like "Take the 'A' Train", "Autumn Leaves" and "Take Five". Soon, progress was made and new songs and styles were added to the repertoire.Soon after solidifying a set, the 6th Street Jazzers began booking gigs, and had a particularly busy Prom season, during which they played at the Queen Mary and various ballrooms throughout the city. The 6th Street Jazzers specialize in providing exciting and elegant live music for corporate events, fund raisers, and private parties in the Los Angeles area.
