Growing up in Texas definitely influenced Mark's decision to become a country music singer. At the age of four, he was captured by country music after attending a Conway Twitty concert at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. After graduating high school, Mark enlisted in the Marines. It was during this time that he started working with music more actively and he started writing lyrics for the first time. Being away from home brought out songs about home, loved ones, lost love and his prided home state of Texas. Figuring he should know how to play the music he was mentally hearing and writing lyrics to, he started teaching himself guitar. When Mark was discharged from the Marines he moved back to Texas to polish his craft while working as a firefighter for Houston. He started developing his own sound and songwriting style; a cross between traditional honky-tonk and Texas country. In the fall of 2005 Mark released his first album, an EP (extended play single) and the regional industry started taking notice. Without a budget for promotion several singles still broke into the top 10 on internet radio and top 40 on the Texas Music Chart. With plans to release a new full length album in 2008 with a bigger budget, growing fanbase and better name recognition, Mark is poised to be a new favorite on the regional scene.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~----------
