History of Fire Station 7:Young America #7 was opened in 1878. After a few months the name was changed to Eagle #7 and its home was located at the foot of Congress near Main Street.Station #7 was located at Milam and McIlhenny in 1899. That station is now the Houston Fire Museum. Station #7 was then moved to Elgin and Austin in 1969 where it is today.The station is in District #8 (downtown) which consists of Station #7, #8, and #17. Station #7 is located in the Midtown area of Houston is surrounded by The Third Ward, The Montrose, Downtown, the Medical Center, and many freeways.Station #7 consists of an Engine, Ladder, and Squad.
