About Me

I am a performing artist. I play violin and sing. Styles I perform include jazz, Celtic, rock, pop, folk, Brazilian, and classical. I also play viola, guitar, piano, and mandolin. I love to teach music as much as I love to play it. I'm a composer, a poet, and a bit of a philosopher. My favorite poets are Rumi, Pablo Neruda, and Anna Akhmatova. I recently discovered Stanley Kunitz and I think his poetry is very beautiful. I love foreign films. Someday I plan to visit Ireland, the Czech Republic, Europe, Chile, and Brazil. I like to run, swim, bike, and walk. I love Thai, Indian, and Mediterranean food. I like to be outside. I love trees and hills and the ocean and stars. I like to explore various aspects of spirituality. I am fascinated with Sufism, Buddhism, mysticism, paganism (is that the right word for it?), symbolism, deja vu, and coincidence. I get excited by silly but strange things like divine synchronisms. I am a strong believer in things which can't be explained in words. All the same, I am a lover of words. I can get high on them. I love the adventurous life. I like to be free.
