A New Kind of Truck
for Extreme Carving
Hey surfers.... For many years longboard skate industry has implanted the image on all of us that it is a replacement for surfing when it's flat out there. Let's not kid ourselves. The turning motion of long board with standard pivot trucks is far from that of surfing. It always amazed us here at C-Street Board Shop that basic mechanical concept of skateboard trucks have not changed for over 50 years. Well, we recently run into the boyz at RTR Boarding Company in Chatsworth, California that manufacturers this incredible truck system. In addition to a conventional bushing pivot hanger truck construction, it has a rotation mechanism that allows you to turn sharply in response to your leaning motion, just like surfing on the wave. At first glance of their board, we noticed that this special truck system was installed only on the front, and it had a standard pivot truck on its rear. We thought that was kinda funky, as all other carving truck systems have the same setup on both front and rear. Guys, looks is always deceiving..... once we were on this thing, we immediately started to carve like pros. The reason for having standard pivot truck on the rear end is to mimic the fins on surfboard. Think about it guys, surfboard basically pivots on its rear with fins slicing deep into the water. RTR truck system mimics exactly that! We were so stoked with their truck system, that we decided to promote their products. On most of the longboard skates we sell, we are offering an option to build your board with this innovative truck system at the same price. Trust us, it kicks ass! Or you have a choice to use RTR standard pivot trucks on both front and rear. Their pivot trucks have gone through some serious diet... they are super light! Yet, they engineered to keep the strength to take any abuse you guys can imagine. With this pair, we can build your longboard of any brand at better price, as we get the price break to pass that onto you.
