About Me

I believe the Bible -- all of it. I believe that all of it is relevant. Because I believe the Bible, it follows that I believe God. I believe that he is all that his Word says he is and that he will do all that Scripture declares he will do. I don't become entangled in doctrinal differences, but search for points of agreement common to believers in Jesus Christ as Lord. As long as we adhere to those non-negotiable doctrines that define us as uniquely Christian, I think that God is far less concerned with the details of our theology than he is about how we live and love and serve him and our fellow man. My first goal is to increasingly master my self by following Matthew 22:37-40: "...Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it: Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." Practicing God's kind of love (described in I Corinthians 13) is foundational to our God Walk. My second goal is to train myself to practice his presence continuously, so that he may "guide me with his eye" -- to slow dance, so to speak. Ongoing communication with him sustains us in our ability to walk before him in holiness, without which, Scripture says, no one will see the Lord. Am I a believer? Oh, yes! Am I perfect? Far from it! Daily, I aspire to peel away more of the corrupt and flawed shell of the natural man to reveal an increasingly cleansed and transformed spiritual man -- a new creation. God loves each of us deeply and without reserve, far beyond the reach of human love, and his very heartbeat toward each of us is, "Choose life!" (Deuteronomy 30:19). This layout was handmade with love by the folks at My space or yours? Go get one!
Can God *really* change a person's life? The old saying, "a leopard doesn't change his spots," seems to be true, but God can transform a person from the inside out. He totally changed my life for the better. For another testimony of God's amazing grace, check out this video:
