About Me

With the heart of a true servant, Bishop McIver is a husband, father and an exemplary Pastor, spiritual father and mentor. As an author, apostolic leader and skillful minister of the word, for over 37 years he has boldly proclaimed the truth of the Gospel, winning thousands of souls to Christ. His journey to abundant life began with an encounter with the Holy Spirit in Miami, Florida. On December 12, 1970, Jim McIver was born again and within a year he was filled with the Holy Spirit and called into the ministry. Although Jim had a passion for Christ, he resisted the call to the ministry. After months of suffering the dealings of God, Jim began preaching on street corners in New Jersey and New York. Shortly after surrendering to the call of God Jim began to prepare for the ministry.Since that time, his life has been as clay, molded by the hand of God. His outreach ministry has led thousands to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, hundreds filled with the Holy Ghost, marked by notable miracles and the tangible presence of God.Jim’s early Christian walk was influenced by the likes of: R. W. Schambach, Kathryn Kuhlman, T. L. Osborn, Oral Roberts, Kenneth Hagin and many other word, faith, healing ministers.Imparting life-transforming wisdom, Bishop McIver is the author of over 15 books including How Miracles Are Made (Revival Fires Publications), Who’s Messing With My Stuff? (Revival Fires Publications), Is God Pentecostal? (Revival Fires Publications), God’s Chosen Vessels (Revival Fires Publications), Healed! It is almost unbelievable; but it really happened. I've decided to let people know where I came from so that they may get a better understanding of my passion for Christ, for souls and for life. From about four years old, my Grandmother raised me. Grandma did the best she could, but we were poor! We were so poor that the poor folks felt sorrow for us.I started running with a gang of about 100 guys when I was 12 years old. I got stabbed in the back in a street fight when I was 14 years old. My first of many trips to jail began when I was 15. I was on probation the first of 2 or 3 times when I was 16 years old. I never knew my Mom or Dad until I was 16 years old. I started running a nightclub, gambling and selling illegal liquor when I was 18 years old. I was shot at on at-least three different occasions. One guy shot at me six times with a pistol, and missed six times. Another guy shot at me twice with a double barrel shot gun and missed me. Another guy shot at me once with a single barrel shot gun and missed me. After a terrible fight, a fellow went home and got his gun, came back and put his pistol barrel on my forehead and threatened to kill me. With his pistol barrel on my forehead I shouted; I dare you! It shocked him so badly that he ran with a gun in his hand. That was not courage, that was stupidity! When I look back at the craziness, I realize that I constantly dated death. It is a miracle that I am alive. There were things about my past that I didn't want to remember and I didn't want to tell, but the Holy Spirit spoke to me and said; tell it, and I will use it for my glory. So, as He prompts me to do so, I will add to the testimony.I surrendered my life to Christ in 1970 (the world became a safer place to live). The Lord me called to the ministry in 1971; I was ordained in 1973. I’ve preached on the mission field, under tents, in Convention Halls, in churches, in auditoriums, community halls, on television, on radio and every place the Gospel could be heard. It didn’t matter; I’ve had to tell men about Jesus Christ! The gospel of Jesus Christ is not just about big business; it is about establishing the Kingdom of God in the heart of men! I am not ignorant; I understand the business of the ministry. I have had the privilege of knowing Jesus Christ and winning thousands of souls to Him in 36 years of ministry.I am a: Husband-Father-Pastor-Bishop-Missionary-Author-Publisher. I own a Greeting Card Company, a Daycare Center and Real Estate.
