The ROUSTABOUTS - Albuquerque Rockabilly

About Me

Beyond all rational explanation, this band's core - Rich Patnaude and Scottie Schumann - have been making something resembling rockabilly music since late 2003. Through several incarnations, MANY shows, and almost as many 'delicate situations', we've suvived. Through 7 guitar players and immeasurable despair we now find ourselves about to cross into new territory with our best lead guitar guy yet - the magnificent Mike Amacher. The Roustabouts believe that any other band called 'the roustabouts' are merely tributes to our transcendent glory, and we support deep fried vegetables of most sorts. The Roustabouts do not believe that macaroni and cheese should be breaded and then deep fried. We belive Mayor Martin Chavez would taste good rolled in corn meal, dipped in egg yolks, and dusted with asbestos - moments BEFORE being deep fried in whale blubber. [Serve with a slice or orange or minced nepotism.] Watch for our first CD release in late 2007 or early 2008...

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: roustaboutrockabilly.com
Band Members: Dick Lewis - Guitar, vocals Buster Hymen -Upright Johnny Depp's father - 'nother guitar
Influences: We've tried most of them, but find that we stand by Warren Smith, The Replacements, Jack Logan, The Heartbreakers, Elias McDaniels, Roy Kay Trio, The Johnny Bunette Trio, The Clash, Steve Earle, Otis Rush, The Memphis Murder Men, Terry Anderson and The Olympic Ass Kickin Team; American Public Schools, broken families, heartbreak, the perpetual fear of armageddeon, heartbreak, shattered faith, SOUP, heartbreak, and a nagging feeling that maybe everything will just start to work out pretty well before everything goes black. And, we like celery.
Sounds Like: Like bathing nekked in a barrel full of warmed dry-wall screws - after funnelling a fifth of Patron tequilla and making sweet love to the most willin' woman in the bar. Like freedom, Daddy-o. This music is ours - it's rock and roll with a 50's feel, but angry 21st century 'lyrical content'. Someone let my ID out of it's cage and I still can't get it back in there - I think it's hiding behind the trashcan full of empties.
Record Label: Ask yourself, "Do you feel lucky? Well...do ya?"
Type of Label: Major

Spongecake Narcissism

Buster knows what Dick likes.  They've known one another for some time now, even lived together.  It's nice to see such sweet, serendipitous gestures between folks who've experienced so...

BUNDT CAKE

I had a rough time with the staying in-bounds part tonight.  I kept playing my lame-assed leads over Buster's badass bass solo's.  In my defense, I haven't been feeling too sw...
