Guy Shechter - a very clamed and busy drummer in Israel's rock and experimental music scene. Performed, recorded and toured with: 'Carusella', 'Kruzenshtern & Parohod', 'ED', 'Monotonix' (drag city), 'Flying Baby', 'Lietterschpich', 'Superdrive', 'O.B.E.Y', 'Karate Band', 'AKA Jose', 'Narccist', Jewlia Eisenberg (Tzadik), Peter Himmelman, Yeremi Kaplan, Mikhail Kolovsky, Nikolay Rubanov, and more new upcoming performers.
Started playing the drums at the age of 14 after first seeing the movie- Queen- "the magic years". By the age of fifteen, quickly after discovering power-rock-playing through Nirvana's Dave Grohl and Led zeppelin's John Bonham, Shechter was playing as hard as he could, systematicaly demolishing every piece of drum gear that he owned on his drum-kit, from: snare drums to pedals, skins, sticks and cymbals. At the age of 17 had self taught how to play guitar and bass and started writing songs. Along the years: 1994-2001, Shechter had only played in his high school grunge band 'Narccist' which had split up closely to his Army recruits. It was only after his release from service that he joined the forming 'Kruzenshtern & Parohod' back in 2001. With K&P, Shechter had recorded three LP records and one live album which have all been released in Tel Aviv's avant-garde indie-lable 'Auris Media'. This July, the band will play in Milan, Italy's "60's Israeli Anniversary Festival". With the albums distributed in various countries, K&P had three times toured in east Europe and Russia. Now on the verge of a 4th upcoming Album, Shechter will tour 6 weeks in Russia and Europe. Straightly followed by this tour, Guy Shechter and Tamar Aphek's promising new born heavy rock duo -CARUSELLA, will continue with five more weeks on the road in all of Europe, supporting their upcoming debut album. Before the breeding of Carusella, Shechter had performed and toured for three years with alternative rockers 'ED', recording two releases under Tel-Aviv's indie lable PIT/KIT. In 2005 recorded toy drums for the release of industrial toy orchestra "children's 4 music" by: 'Igor Krutogolov's Karate Band'. More drumming were laid down for black metalists, ex- Tangorodrim (Southern Lord Records) 'O.B.E.Y', and Dub/ Industrial freaks, 'Leitterscpich' (Heart & Crossbone/Topheth Prophet).
