Avantgarde was born in January 2003, Two Spanish guys, Miguel Goi (guitar) and Carlos
Piris (Drums) and a Belgian, Phillippe dHuart (Bass) had a band called "Exit". Those days they
were recording their first album "Super L" but at the end of the recording they hadnt a singer. So,
Piris remembered he met an American singer in London, They sent him a demo and he felt in love
with the music, several months later he arrived to Spain. Those days he was working very hard with
the songs in London like a karaoke, you know....They cannot play the songs at the rehearsal room.
So, he was in London until June 2003, started to record voices and they finished around
September, but "Super L" had to wait until April 20th, 2004 to be launched on the Spanish market,
Those days the band was working very hard at the rehearsal room, little gigs, etc...
The album launch took place in May 4th, 2004 at Sala El Sol (Madrid), Avantgarde hit the
stage with a 450 plus crowd, later the band was playing a Summer tour with a very important
Spanish band called "Deluxe" and others emergent bands."Super L" has had very good write-ups by
critics.
Most of the time Avantgarde shared in rooms of hotels in the Summer Tour04, they were
composing new songs and arrangements.
In September 2004 they had composed most of the songs of the new album "Read Between
the Lines", so they started to record the new album with the Grammy winner (Best Engineer)
P.Sherman in December at Idem Studios (Madrid)
"Read Between the lines" in launched on the Spanish market at April 4th, 2005 and will take
place in May 4th, 2005 at Sala El Sol (Madrid) (Exactly one year later). A new stage is waiting for
the band...
