Adult Records was started just after the summer of 2005 as a sublabel of the Basic Beat recordcompany, which is based in Rotterdam (NL). The label entered the global techno scene with a blast, as the first release, Ko Raketa EP by Marko Nastic and Veztax, was a huge success. After that nearly all the key players in the funky techno scene made their appearance on Adult Records with either a release or a remix. After a while we also gave some fresh talents, like Sinisa Tamamovic, Mladen Tomic and Ummet Ozcan a chance to release their material. Nowdays the label is widely known as being a sure thing in the sets of all DJ's who support no-nonsense funky uptempo techno.Relatives was started as an Adult Records sublabel in 2006. The artwork has the same features for recognition and has releases by mainly the same artists, with the big difference that Relatives is only releasing various artist EP's, four tracks by four different artists on each vinyl. Aim is to have two or three main artists from the Adult label to do a track + to have one or two fresh talents to do a track on each release, so they get the oppertunity to get noticed. Where Adult Records is releasing quite frequently, about 8 releases a year, Relatives will only do about 3 releases a year.A&R for both labels is done by Prude Polly a.k.a. Paul Hazendonk.Worldwide distribution by Triple Vision and Neuton.
