Her favorite songs to play were the deep, meaningful songs—so she resolved to make a record showcasing her piano skills and that captured the kind of high-spirited, full-throttle energy that she loves to express on-stage.The result is a collection of songs that reveal just how far she’s evolved as a songwriter/producer and singer which unexpectedly combines a hip-hop beat with beefy power chords, and a chanted girl-style chorus.As an artist with a keen and well-trained ear for powerful melodies and from being fiercely independent while writing and producing her own songs she had her producers and musical collaborators help, to obsessively going back and tweak sounds and drumbeats in her own production studio.The album features the production skills of AKONS Konvict muzik artist Colby O'Donis(who also produced LIL ROMEO, and SILKK THE SHOCKER). The process turned out to be a blast! Rachel Reed has always believed that she was born to sing. By the age of three, she loved singing the blues in a slow soulful tune, making up the lyrics as she sang along. Her first public performance was at the age of six when she danced and sang to The L.O.V.E. Song in Cabaret style at her elementary school. Rachel then volunteered in her community singing at the sides of the bedridden touching the hearts and souls of the elderly. From 1996-2006 she involved herself in numerous community events, performances with bands and pianists, talent competitions, theater productions, dance performances, pageants, and Tae Kwan Do, in which she obtained the title of 1st Senior black belt. For her vocal talent, beauty, karate, and the performing arts, Rachel has received 1st place awards. Rachel was a finalist winner for the Temecula Valley Showcase singing competition of 15 cities. Her most prestigious award she received was the 2003 Heroes and Legends Scholarship, presented by The Berry Gordy Family Foundation, Rachel was an honoree at the ceremony in Beverly Hills for her vocal talent in the performing arts in which she wrote an essay and sang a gospel song. There was Honorable mention stated for a song Rachel sang to Ray Charles for his lifetime achievement award in 2001. Singing Summertime with the Musicians Workshop Jazz Band is one of Rachels most memorable and exciting experiences. At the International Film and Music Festivals black tie gala dinner, held at Pechanga, Ray Charles rocked back and forth to the music. He responded with a Wow! and tears in response to Rachels performance. She received a standing ovation, along with the jazz band that she had performed with for over two years and over 100 performances, Too many to list.Featured gigs include her own professional singing Dinner Show at The Gardenia, in Hollywood in which she totally delighted her audience. She performed monthly at The Promenade mall adding fans and bringing people to tears and emotion. She sung with a live pianist at the Disney wonder Cruise Line Concierge Party as a special guest to entertain the captain of the ship. At the Boys & Girls Club, she coordinated a Saturday event teaching about voice and entertaining the young kids. Rachel sung as a featured soloist on a Santa Clause Lane Float, for the Race for the Cure for Cancer finish line which over 12,000 people passed, Saturn Cars Grand Opening, March Air Force Base, San Diego Zoo with Island Fever Band and invoked the emotions of thousands of fans at the Storms Baseball games singing the National Anthem. In 2004 she won the number one royalty title for teen talent in Gold Coast Pageants for all of California in which she performed singing for entertainment at most events. In 2005, Rachel performed as a singing hostess at Macaroni Grill. She sung for hire in cafs of New York. She has sung professionaly for Mortuaries & funerals and has done numerous parties, events, ceremonies and parades. She has sung vocal demos for others for pay.As an accomplished singer and teacher of voice Rachel enjoys singing many genres of music, which include soul, rhythm & Blues, jazz, gospel, pop, pop rock, soft rock, Musical Theater, Broadway, classical, and opera. Rachel has sung songs in Italian & French, winning awards in both. She has studied with Barbara Chiofalo, Beatrice Carroll, and Liz Wooten.Rachel played the lead of Princess Rosamonde in The Emperors New Clothes, put on by Opera Pacific, one of the finest professional opera companies in the nation. At age 15 she mesmerized audiences with her talent and beauty appearing in a custom-made dress made out of CDs, shining like nothing you've seen before.She was featured as a singing waitress in a dinner show in Mayhem & Mayville. She played the lead role of Cinderella and was. Other featured performances were in Charlottes Web, The Nutcracker Musical, and Miracle on 34thSt.Over the years, she has taken group and private acting classes with CYT and UGI Actors WorkshopNewspaper appearances include The Press Enterprise May 5, 2001. Pre-teens sing Andrews Sisters WWII-era hit. Rachel was the center of a trio singing Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy with the Musicians Workshop jazz band. Rachel appears in the December 2003 issue of the Entertainment Roundup newspaper, featured as Performer of the Month.Keeping fit by exercising at the gym and by dancing has been one of her main routines. For 8 years, she has danced in groups and solos. She has studied belly dancing, ballet, tap, hip-hop, jazz & lyrical. She dances with flexibility. She is presently studying private jazz with lyrical performance.Rachel spends much of her time recording demos in studios, practicing piano, keyboard, and song writing.
