About Me
Hi everyone, thanks for dropping by.I'll tell you a little bit about myself. I've been in bands my whole life, having my first professional gig at 13. Most of my career has been spent as a drummer and a backing vocalist. I've been lucky enough to play with some great musicians throughout the years, like John Martyn, Noel Redding ( The Jimi Hendrix Experience ) and Jimmy Dewar ( The Robin Trower Band and Lulu & The Luvvers ) to name but a few. Being a session player I've been on many discs. In fact I'm on one just released in Nashville by Ronnie Costley called Dancin' to Johnny.I like all genres of music and have played them all at one time or another. Everything that's good is good ! But soul music has always, but always, been my preferred and personal choice. As a baby, well about 3 years old, I was asked by an aunt, "Who was my favourite singer?" My reply was "Ray Charles." His was the first voice that I can remember, and will never forget ! On my new album, A Fillet of Soul, you'll hear me do one of his songs, Georgia On My Mind. And I do hope you like it. I recorded the album at The Soul Cellar Studio, Park Lane, Shawlands in Glasgow. I produced it but, couldn't have without my good friend and colleague Thomas McNeice (El Presidente) engineering to the max! The album has just been released, but the only way to puchase one, would be at a gig. I'll soon have a website made, and you'll be able to get it through that. But I'll keep y'all posted on that one. I maybe even do a video at some point. My brother Jack, who was in T-Rex and The Pretty Things, has offered his sevices, as that's what he specialises in now. Aren't I the lucky one ?I'll post some of my gigs up. And if you do come and see me, please say hello. That would be really great. But for now,Keep love in your soul,Ricky Green.
