About Me

Hailing from beneath the depths Middlesbrough's dense smog cloud, Shigeru are a four piece whose music is based around simplicity, energy and passion. Their sound is a seamless mix of grinding riffs, pounding rhythms and powerful vocal melodies ranging from the dark to the beautiful.

Shigeru's live shows are energetic and sincere. Their stage presence is welcoming and Warren's unique (and often surreal) charm will leave you thoroughly entertained (if a little perplexed).

Some of the more prominent influences include: Metallica, Pennywise, Bad Religion, Killswitch Engage, The Ramones, Squarepusher, Jane's Addiction, 4ft Fingers, Iron Maiden, System Of A Down, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Led Zeppelin, Foo Fighters, Tool, Nirvana, Glassjaw, Smashing Pumpkins, Fear Factory and NOFX.

I have to say, no matter how many times I listen to the CD I never expect the singer to sound like he does, but it works. The vocals are powerful with a touch of grit, though the singer can ease off a touch when needed. The melodies are as unusual as the sound too."
