Nuclear Angels

"We danced in the rain of the prophet's tears."

About Me

Influenced by avant-garde, ambient, classical and acoustic music, Nuclear Angels have weaved a new sonic tapestry that musically reflects the lightness and darkness of the human experience.Artist/pianist/vocalist Angelique Buman’s songs of love and relationships are a contrast to singer/guitarists Doug Corey’s verses of murder and the end of days. Yet they are tied together by classical guitarist Jonathan Nolan. Including drummer Mike Robertshaw, the band’s past musical experiences include every category imaginable, but they have come together to make something wholly original.Nolan and Corey bonded over their love of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, after writing the framework of their first songs, Buman and Robertshaw expressed interest in adding to the sonic canvas. Nolan, not wanting to sound like a folk group, decided that if he were to play guitar in a small ensemble, it had to be classical guitar. When adding a pianist, not to mention one with a voice, the instruments blended naturally as well as the two lead voices. They scored a first gig opening for NYC’s Dirty On Purpose and headed strait to record a demo.Their first recordings were done at Watchmen Studios and are getting a great response. They plan on returning in February after letting more songs “breathe” before being committed to tape.
