I am a performance poet, I love poetry, the words... the feeling behind the words. Poetry is not a hobby for me it is my one true love! Poetry for me is a safe haven so I try to stay far away from those who truly know nothing about the art form... those who couldn't tell you anything about Paul Laurence Dunbar or Phyillis Wheatly or even W.E.B.DuBois... because they are to busy chanting thier own name over and over again... hoping someone... anyone will remember it... I love real poets who write the truth because the live the truth and they perform the truth because those poets are the truth...and the truth never changes, it stands strong and is always remembered even when it is not told.
