Twain

About Me

Twain is a husband, writer and an award-winning performance poet. He came to the art form after being introduced to spoken word by New York lyricist, Latif Reed, in 2000. Today, he stands as one of the fiercest performance poets in the nation. His work is extremely universal having appeared live on ABC network television and Dallas-based radio stations, K104 and 97.9 The Beat. Twain has been featured at various universities, art festivals and poetry venues. He was also showcased at the National Society of Black Engineers Conference as well as the Pantene Pro-V Total You Tour (Dallas) which featured such guests as Nikki Giovanni, MC Lyte, Yolanda Adams and a host of other celebrities. Performing with an indefinable style and intensity, Twain’s passion is evident in every spoken word. He is an advocate of truth, inspiring his audience while shedding light on subjects that society tends to overlook or ignore. Embracing both lyrical and experimental forms he presents his audience with snapshots of life.
