Big Mess is a band comprised of three guys from diverse backgrounds with a common punk heritage. They love mischief and know how to rock. If you like your music raw and uncensored Big Mess is the band for you.
Steve Sutton (guitar and vocals) started his career in a band that became The Unclaimed, one of the original LA punk bands. Afterwords he started a band called Moving Parts, one of the greatest LA rock bands you never heard of. Then of course there was the Dope Weasels... and so on. This sort of meandering continued for some time until a short while ago when he teamed up with another alumnus of the punk world, Chad.
Chad Carrier (bass and vocals) started right in the thick of the punk scene and formed Easter, one of the pioneers of the 80s sound with hits on KROQ, VH1 and MTV. He then joined the intense and volatile all girl (oops) almost all girl band and Hollywood favorite, Lovedog. With an album in Germany and touring Europe and the West Coast and after being courted and not signed by the majors, Lovedog disintegrated. Followed by more local success with Black Eyed Susans and CC and the Jackpot Prize he was ready to start something fresh and without pretension. Thus, Chad formed Big Mess. And it was good. Of course no band is complete without a drummer.
Bernie Deal, keeps the beat tight so we don't live entirely up to our name. A local yocal, Bernie has played with some great South Bay bands.
Big Mess is writing and performing some of the best rock songs you will hear anywhere. Be ready. Be prepared for Big Mess.
