I started to write songs when I was twelve. My favourite composing instrument has always been the piano, and this combined with my liking for rock often resulted in Toto-like tunes... But in later years, I've expanded my writing into a wide variety of styles (I've got no control anymore, these totally different tunes just pops out!), from piano-rock to classical music, from swing to electronic...
I'll be moving out of my parents house and about 120 km south in the fall of 2007, to study at the music production program at Vaxjo University in Vaxjo. Hopefully, the good studio environments and the teaching will enable me to put up some great and variyng tunes here on my page, so drop by from time to time to see what I'm up to!
My projects (this far):
"Mergus" was my first encounter with writing and recording in a music studio. Me and my friend Simon Ekeberg met on a summer camp in 2002. Some of our new, common friends had recorded a hilarious fairytale-kind-of-album late one night, which they brung to the camp and sold (actually quite a lot). This became somewhat of a trend amongst our friends, with many humouristic, primitive projects emerging after the camp. Me and Simon first decided to make something in the spirit of Yawn, but the lack of composing and arranging experience was greater than our enthusiasm... So we simply worked with the songs only when we felt like it, and had gathered enough energy to continue. After three years with periods of hard work and no work, we wrapped it up. In working with these songs (that had no real purpose or theme), I learned a lot and made my first mistakes, so this is an important part of my studio experience!

"Fungus' Octave" was a result of my examination work in gymnasiet (like upper high school), where I decided to build a home-studio. I bought a new soundcard, a stagepiano and sound-absorbing materials, but when the deadline started to draw close, I realized that I couldn't afford a microphone... So to show that my studio despite that was "done", I thought about what I could record without microphones. I started to fool around with the C64-clone quadraSID, and after making a video-game-like tune for fun, I decided to make a bunch more and make each song like a level in a fictionary video-game. The result "Master Joe Faces Evil - Five Levels" is, in my ears, a really good collection of retro tunes, with great melodies and lines.

"Han Därborta" (Hand Is Gone in english) was my first project in my home studio with real instruments and even some vocal recordings. Me and my friend Richard Renklint found out in 2005 that we were soulmates when it came to jaming and composing crazy and happy songs, so when the summer of 2006 came, we locked ourselves in at my studio and arranged all the songs in a similar crazy way... "Kon Av Lycka" (Cow of Bliss - it's kind of a word-game in swedish) can be downloaded for free at our homepage (follow the link "musik").

My "happy" songs are me, taking a break from the usual pop/rock-songwriting. These melodies just pops out when I'm at the piano, and most of the time a swing/jazz-suite is the best clothing. Happy no.4 is the only one that has been recorded (examination project for my former school ITM), the others are in the arranging stage or looking-for-musicians-and-time-to-record-stage!
