SCA!! Gardening, singing, cooking, middle eastern dance, flirting. Ready for this? I'm currently fascinated by the relationship between universal consciousness and string theory / quantum physics. I have been practicing meditation and am getting to a point where I can actually be present in the moment for 2-3 minutes at a time. Those of you who know me know what a challenge this is for me :) Right now I am in the process of developing two ideas which are absolutely consuming me with passion: 1) My new SCA persona of a 12th century Spanish Jew and 2) Becoming a Personal Chef.I can't learn enough fast enough. I wish I could just plug into the Matrix and download this stuff directly into my brain. I spend a lot of time hanging around with these guys: http://consciousness.meetup.com/74/ . I have met a lot of absolutely wonderful people and my mind continues to expand with new ideas (and new applications for old ideas). Very satisfying intellectual / social / spiritual outlet.
More Cooking Laurels!!!!Here, listen to this. Turn the sound way up and just get into it. Trust me. Just do it. Take a few minutes and lose yourself. Josh Groban has the most gorgeous voice ever.
I'm so obsessed with Josh Groban it's almost embarrassing. His voice gives me the shivers. Other than that, I mostly listen to contemporary folk rock (I love "The Loft" channel on satellite radio), Irish Folk and its many variants, but I also really love classical and jazz, and World music in general. Past favorite style was 70's progressive such as Yes, Genesis, King Crimson, ELP, although I'm kind of over it now. Great Big Sea, Indigo Girls, Joni Mitchell, Peter, Paul, and Mary, Moxy Fruvous. Anything with great harmonies for singing along!! A smattering of heavier stuff, like Rush, Queen, Zepplin, Jane's Addiction, etc. but not too much. I am not a metalhead.
In no particular order or timeframe: Moulin Rouge, Sophie's Choice, Ladyhawke, LotR, Dangerous Liasons, Harry Potters, Clockwork Orange, Silence of the Lambs, Princess Bride, Amadeus, Labyrinth, The Dark Crystal....um....lots more.
Firefly!! The new Battlestar Galactica, the new Dr. Who. Food Network. Past: Farscape, Babylon 5, Friends, Xena, Sex and the City. I love archeology / anthropology /nature shows (like the amazing "Planet Earth" series) but don't get to watch much TV and they aren't my first priority. I also like to Netflix miniseries like "Rome" (which was awesome).
The Power Of Intention by Wayne Dyer. The Mastery of Love: A Toltec Book of Wisdom by Don Miguel Ruiz. The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley. Sci-Fi/Fantasy, SCA period historical fiction, period and modern cookbooks.
Grandma Edmunds. John Lennon. Moses Maimonides. Jim Henson. Alton Brown. Master Adamantius. Anyone who showed up at Ground Zero to help.
