About Me



The Long Island Voices Foundation Inc. is a not for profit community organization serving the young people of Long Island, primarily but not limited to ages 7 through 21 years, without regard for race, creed, color, gender, disability, economic status or national origin, but with a special focus on at risk youth. An organization designed to meet the needs of the total child by way of providing an outlet for children to direct their energies into positive experiences, and at the same time assist them in developing moral character and a value system as well as explore and experience different levels of growth to help our youth move toward a productive adulthood.The centerpiece of the Foundation is a choir of young people, many at high risk for not realizing a productive future. The Foundation provides. Scholarships and Educational Guidance via Tutoring, Life skills Workshops: Peer to Peer Development, The Arts, Mentoring via Brother & Sister Support Teams, Story Time - enhancing Reading & Writing Skills, Computer Literacy as well as Develop academic support systems primarily focusing on enhancing their skills in Science, Mathematics and the arts. To develop and enhance the vocal ability of high risk youth promoting their musical excellence as we cultivate and foster the skills, communication and decision making abilities of high risk youth by developing their artistic professionalism.BIO:Backup choir for Whitney Houston and Mark Anthony at All Star Holiday Gala in Manhattan, December 3, 1999;1999 winners of Tri-StateMcDonald's Gospel Fest;Featured at Madison Square Garden, June 1999;Televised on special "Stand Up and Shout" WABC T. V. July ,1999 with the renown, Min. John P. Kee, Vicky Winan, Richard Small-wood, Timothy Wright and others;Broadcast Channel 12 "Making a Difference on Long Island". In August, 1999;Featured in "Back To School" Concert for Youth in Philadelphia;Given concerts for several Foster Care Agencies on Long Island such as Little Flower Children Services, Wading River;Guest Choir at National Luncheon sponsored by Long Island Branch ofNAACP;Guest on Nationally Renown Bobby Jones Birthday Celebration, Georgetown, Delaware;Presented Concerts at many Churches, Schools and Colleges such as University of SUNY Stony Brook and Dowling, Black History Programs and more.
