Tali Rubinstein was born in Israel in 1984. She started her recorder studies under the guidance of Ilana Hiller, and has been a student of Bracha Kol since 1993. A graduate of Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts, she has appeared as soloist with the school's Symphony Orchestra conducted by Menachem Nebenhaus. She served in the Israel Defense Forces as an Outstanding Musician in the Air Force musical band. Tali studied at the Rubin Academy of Music, Tel-Aviv University, and in 2007 graduated from the Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music, where she studied jazz recorder (with Ilan Salem) as well as voice and arrangement. During her studies at Rimon School she was recipient of the Gilad Shein memorial scholarship.Tali played with a recorder quartet in the 2000 Independence Day radio broadcasts, as soloist in the television series "Intermezzo with Arik" hosted by Prof. Arie Vardi, and in the recording and world premiere performance of Tsipi Fleischer's opera "Cain and Abelâ€. She also performed in “International music day 2006â€, and in “4 Days in Irland†festival in the presence of the Irish ambassador. Tali performed as soloist at the 40 year Thelma Yellin High School reunion, as well as at the 20th anniversary of Rimon School, alongside prominent musicians Shalom Chanoch, David Broza and Danny Sanderson.Tali participated in master classes with Kes Booke, Marion Verbruggen, Han Toll, Sebastean Marq, Michael Schneider, the Florilegium Ensemble, Kate Clark and the Rocordo ensemble. She won second prize at the seventh International Recorder Festival Contest 2004 in Utrecht, The Netherlands. Tali has been recipient of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation scholarships since 1994.Tali performed at the Jerusalem International Convention Center, Caesarea Amphitheater, Givatayim Theater, Tel Aviv Museum, Israel Conservatory, Einav Center, Heineken Habima Club, Barby Club, and others. She performed and/or recorded with (partial list): Yardena Arazi, Dudu Tassa, Kevin Mahogany, Knesiat Hasechel (including “Autobiographyâ€, performed at the 2007 Israel Festival), Avi Grainik, and Vered Dekel. She has participated in many TV and radio broadcasts.
