Guinness Clarke's Wine

Music that goes down easy

About Me

Formed in the spring of 2001 in Huntington, WV, Guinness Clarke’s Wine is a seven-piece, eclectic rock and roll band. Talents range from traditional American instruments to African percussion. With a guitar-driven sound, pop-friendly harmonies and unforgettable, heartfelt songwriting, GCW is rapidly becoming a regional favorite.GCW’s members claim a variety of musical influences. This musical diversity constitutes the band’s unique sound—a blend of almost every imaginable genre. Jeff Ellis, lead vocals and guitar, hails from the Springsteen era of songwriting. Joe Bailey, bass, mandolin and percussion, shares a love of all things metal with newcomer Daniel Johnson, drums. Adding to the massive percussion onslaught is Gregg Radcliff, a student/teacher of African dance and rhythm. Phil James, keyboards and vocals, is GCW’s Beatles influence. Sharing constant lead and rhythm duties, and creating the big guitar sound that has come to define GCW, are Mitch Linville and Damon Adkins, who come from the school of 70s rock and roll. Together, these guys form GCW.The band released its second independent album, “Port,” in October of 2003. Through consistent touring and shameless self-promotion, GCW has found its way into the hearts, minds and stereos of thousands of fans.
