Born in the middle of the fifties (1955) Robi Zonca grew up listening to the Beatles, Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan. Then the Brithis Blues arrived in italian music stores with John Mayall, Eric Clapton, Peter Green, Mick Taylor and Robi falled in love with the Blues.
After that discovering the black masters of the blues was a real big flash for Robi.
Listening to Robi's music you can hear all of the influences that inspire his compositions and his guitar and bass playing and his singing.
After several long years of sideman work with many band and musicians like Andy J. Forest, Ginger Baker, Ronnie Jones, Mia Martini, Treves Blues Band and many more RZ started his solo career publishing 4 albums in in the last 5 years. Part of his current album "REBEL!" was recorded during 2006 in NY with the devoted dedication, commitment, and outstanding contribution of many gifted musicians from both the U.S.A. and Italy, including world renowned musicians like the legendary drummer Bernard “Pretty†Purdie, the Vivino Brothers and Big Luther Kent. His music is now well known in the USA where more than 250 radio stations air his music in high rotation
Robi Zonca nasce nel 55 e quindi vive in prima persona tutta l'epopea del rock
partendo dai Beatles, gli Stones, i Doors, Bob Dylan, Jimy Hendrix, Cream etc. etc.
All'arrivo in Italia del British Blues, con John Mayall, Eric Clapton, Peter Green, Mick Taylor, si innamora del blues e comincia ad ascoltare anche il blues dei Maestri come Muddy Waters, BB King, Freddie King, Albert King e tanti altri.
Nei tardi 70 incontra a Parigi l'armonicista americano Andy J Forest , suona nella sua band per 10 anni registrando 5 albums nei quali collabora come bassista, chitarrista, cantante ed autore.
La carriera di Robi prosegue con varie prestigiose collaborazioni come quelle con Tolo Marton, la Treves Blues Band, Ginger Baker, Mia Martini, Ronnie Jones, e tanti tanti altri che sarebbe troppo lungo elencare.
Dal 2003 Robi Zonca, stanco del ruolo di sideman ma ancora pieno di musica da esprimere, si è messo in proprio pubblicando il suo primo album da leader "DO YOU KNOW?" subito notato negli U.S.A. dove viene trasmesso da centinaia di radio specializzate e la stessa cosa succede in tutta Europa dove in Olanda, in Francia, in Germania, Spagna, Polonia, Serbia e in Inghilterra
( BBC!!) i suoi pezzi vanno forte su tutte le radio a tema blues.
Questo successo radiofonico convince Robi a proseguire con anche maggiore entusiasmo e nel 2005 è pronto il secondo album "YOU ALREADY KNOW" che conferma e rafforza il successo presso le radio di tutto il mondo.
Durante la promozione di "You already know" Robi incontra a New Orleans il grande cantante Big Luther Kent. L'anno dopo nel 2006 viene pubblicato il terzo album, questa volta dal vivo e con la partecipazione di Luther.
E siamo ai giorni nostri quando Robi pubblica il nuovo album "REBEL!" registrato tra New York e Milano con l'appassionato apporto di grandi strumentisti USA come Bernard"Pretty"Purdie i Vivino Brothers e Big Luther
