BIO
Maurizio Sacchi nasce a Milano nel 1962 e, all’eta di 18 anni si trasferisce in Veneto. Sono gli anni del Punk e delle sonorità New Wave difficile non restarne contagiati, il resto poi e storia.
Il debutto e di quelli classici, il provino per una radio locale RADIO SAN DONA' CENTRALE, il primo programma, le prime esperienze con il pubblico anche se indirettamente, la voglia comunque di proporre sempre qualcosa di nuovo e alternativo.
Nel 85 arriva anche la prima esparienza nei Club, questa volta il contatto con il pubblico è diretto, e i risultati buoni.
Capisce cosi che la figura del Dj sarebbe stata il suo futuro.
Dopo diversi anni passati a suonare in giro per i Club, diventa fondamentale la conoscienza di un altro Dj Veneto PAOLO VERLANZI, dal quale nasce non solo un’amicizia, ma anche la passione per i primi "Campionatori" e "Sequenser".
Cosi iniziano le prime produzioni HOUSE MUSIC in collaborazione con un vari Dj tra cui GIBO ROSIN, con i nomi di OUT DANCE "DYNAMIC NOISE" per la IRMA RECORDS, RHITHM 3 REQUEST per la UMM RECORDS, TRANCE ORCHESTRA, con il già grande Dj PAOLO MARTINI, HOUSE PEOPLE in collaborazione con ALFRED AZZETTO per la D-VISION, etc……
Nel 93 con i BUM BUM CLUB (in compagnia di PAOLO VERLANZI & GIANNI ZEN) realizza un rmx per NEJA "RESTLESS" su etichetta NEW MUSIC, e sarà subito un grande successo con parecchie settimane al numero uno di molte classifiche.
Qualche anno più tardi sempre per la NEW MUSIC produrra il nuovo singolo dei BLACK MACHINE "FUNKY BANANA", poco dopo nascono i FUN KEE RUNNERS con GIANNI "Bum Bum" ZEN, per L'AIRPLANE RECORDS "THE REAL TRIBUTE" il primo singolo e subito un buon successo, che lo portera ben presto a remixare artisti come "SU SU BOBIEN","CE CE ROGERS", etc..
Continuando a lavorare nei Club, preferendo sempre la musica House Elecro, si arriva al 1996 con il fenomeno LA FUERTEZZA, collaborando sia al singolo sia alla realizzazione dei due Lp. con P. VERLANZI e il chitarrista e Co-Produttore ROSSANO PALU’ DB BOULEVARD.
Storia più recente sono invece i progetti THE GUIDANCE (cantao da WILL ROBERTSON), e KEE DE ES per la JAYWORK REC., realizzati insieme a due DJ Veneti, GIANLUCA DURANTE e LUCA KUIA, e avvalendosi di volta in volta della collaborazione di diversi cantanti e musicisti uno su tutti il Jazzista DAVIDE BOATO.
Anche qui il primo singolo "AGUA DO MAR" brano cantato in portoghese dalla voce calda e particolare di ALESSIA OBINO, suscita un discreto interesse, assicurandosi licenze con etichette importanti del calibro della CYBER (ROYAL F.), TEMPO MUSIC, etc...ed e inserito in moltissime compilation soprattutto in terra Nipponica.
Nel 2000 nasce il progetto JANCLAUDEMAURICE dalle sonorità Ethno world / House, in collaborazione con GIANLUCA DURANTE (ormai partner inseparabile di questa avventura), dopo il primo singolo "MY MAYA" anche questo con un buon riscontro soprattutto in varie compilation estere, porterà alla realizzazione del primo Lp. "DIVINE SING", sempre per l’etichetta JAYWORK REC.
Nel 2004/05, concepisce assieme a JOE dei OVERNUIT MACHINE il progetto KRANK, l’inizio è di quelli ambiziosi, con la realizzazione del video per il primo singolo, la cover dei MASSIVE ATTAK "UNFINISHED SYMPATHY" stravolta dall’eccezionale voce di JOE e dalla magica versione di MAX PORCELLI.
Alla realizzazione del video partecipano RICCARDO "Richi" MODENA artista poliedrico "Pittura, Fotografia, Scritti" con una vena noire, per l’ideazione e la regia, IVAN SCIALINO per la fotografia, LORENZO BIANCHINI per l’edditing,ROBERTO CLOCCHIATTI effetti 3D.
Il video fa una breve apparizione all’interno di ALL MUSIC nella sezione ROCK, ma tuttora deve ancora esprimere tutte le sue potenzialità come progetto.
Oggi collabora con varie etichette disc. tra cui la MOLTO RECORDINGS con il progetto THE DEAFNES "BELA LUGOSI'S DEAD", con un Rmx tutto nuovo in uscita, il singolo nuovo dei KEE DE ES "BREAK OUT" per la MOOVE RECORDS, cover dei SWING OUT SISTER rivisitata in chiave Bossa dal magico tocco di RENATO GRECO guitar & Bass e dalla splendita voce di ROSA dei NOSSA ALMA CANTA".
Per la NAPIC esce Lp. ATOLLO K "A DISTANT CALL" nato dalla collaborazione con il DJ Padovano.
Ora con GIANLUCA DURANTE sta portando avanti il progetto LOVEJOY, che dopo un primo singolo "HOLLY-WOOD" escono con il nuovo singolo "TALK TOO MUCH" e "COMMUTER FANTASY" per la DISTAR RECORDS, disponibile nei migliori siti di Download, ultimi aggiornamenti le collaborazioni con i suoi nuovi soci ROSSANO PALU’ e LEO FERRARA Pimp My ProfileDRIVE BIO.
ROSSANO PALU':
Musician, arranger and producer, he started his musical career in 1989 playing the guitar with many metal bands and with well-known Italian artists.
In 1994 he became one of the most talented guitarists of the Italian scene.
In 1995, with the “global diffusion†of
electronics and computer he was caught up by the new, emerging sonorities, fuelling his passion for house-dance music.
He can boast many world successful productions and remixes,the most important of which is To the night – La Fuertezza a number one hit on the European and Italian charts for many weeks.
Amongst other important productions Angelmoon “He’s all I want“(number 1 for in the Billboard maxi-single chart sung by Moonie),Moody Experience , Cappery EP(with Stefano Cal)and the
Cappery Boy records.
2001 saw the birth of the DB Boulevard project; their single Point Of View sold more than 2,800,000 copies, reaching the number one placement in all European charts.
Point of View was, moreover, nominated for the 2003 MTV Award(Barcellona) and the Italian Award - up to now the only Italians to have achieved an MTV world nomination.
With DB he successively produced Believe,(top placement in the European Airplay charts),Hard Frequency (official Garnier music and spot)and Basterà , which he presented at the Festival di Sanremo(it was one of the best selling records of the show). Also important was the production of Moony, that, with the single Dove as solo artist first single, reached top placement in world charts. Furthermore, his production boasts a vast amount of international remixes, such as Tweet “Boogie 2 Night “now by Booty Luv(top placement in the European Dance charts and UK chart), Laura Pausini If That’s Love(number one on Billboard for 3 weeks)and Cerrone Love on the Dancefloor(number one in France).
He also boasts many productions for TV spots(Nissan-Coca Cola-Caller-Garnier-Lexus)and is currently working on the extremely promising project Drive.
LEO FERRARA:
Producer, composer, player of many instruments. He was just six when his father gave him his first electrical piano keyboard. In order to refine his technique he started attending the Conservatorio (Music school)where his strong personality and his inborn artistic qualities emerged.
At the age of thirteen his first public performance at the piano
was a success that confirmed him an outstanding character in the
following years. His training comprises ten years spent studying the piano, one year the contrabass, and a further three studying the organ.
His passion for authors of the past, such as Bach, Mozart and Liszt, did not
prevent him from having a strong awareness of present day artists, many
of whom played a strong ascendancy on his taste, contributing to the
broadening of his musical horizons and the enrichment of his musical interests.
Upon completing his studies, despite his teachers' strongly negative opinion, he decided to distance imself from that world of classical music that, he felt, was oppressing him. This was during the 80s, and his admiration for Alan Parson Project, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode and Pink Floyd prompted him to modify his look and to establish his first cover band; a form of electronic experimentation started to take place, by means of the very first digital synthesisers, that integrated a profound knowledge of analogical technology.
Playing in several clubs was an
experience that led him to collaborate, during the following years, with many first-rate artists of the Italian scene.
In 2004 the encounter with
Rossano Palù brought about a fruitful collaboration, and, furthermore, a
deep friendship. The two friends have accomplished many advertisements
(such as ADM, Samsung, Coca Cola and others) and record productions
together, and have moreover taken part in several programmes on national
radio and TV networks.
EDWARD FENNELL:
Singer songwriter was born in Derwent (York), on the 5th March 1972, his mother is British, his father Italian. He spent the first years of his life in Italy, and then, following his parents, who were working at the time for the Italian cultural institutes abroad, he lived in various countries.
When eight, he moved to Munich with his mother.
If the lady had already introduced him to 50s and 60s pop music Beatles,Rolling Stones, Everly Brothers, Buddy Holly, Jony Mitchell, Bob Dylan, etc…) it was during his years attending German schools that he began being acquainted with and appreciated also classical music.
This was when he started studying and playing the piano and the guitar, which was to become his favourite instrument.
In 1994 he moved to Warsaw, there he attended, as a private student, the
Polish capital’s music academy, where he had the opportunity to study the
bases of harmony and composition. Thus came the realization of his true
musical vocation, which was not to be not limited to the mere playing of
instruments, but in the creation of melodies and songs, to which he was
going to dedicate, from the period onwards, all of his free time.
In Poland he had the privilege of meeting Maestro Riccardo Chailly – one of the main guests of an exhibition on Dino Buzzati which was held in Krakow –
who encouraged him to persevere in his passion, which in that period embraced pop music, too.
At the age of eighteen he moved back to Italy, where he attended the Upper School for Interpreters and translators in Forlì.
At the same time he worked at Lucio Dalla’s Pressing - Recording Studios - as a composer and arranger for emerging young Italian artists
(Samuele Bersani).
It is during this period that another decisive encounter took place, namely meeting Jeff Buckley, and discussing music with him for a whole night. After a period spent in London at his uncle’s – famous jewellery designer Theo Fennell – during which he acquired insightful knowledge of the British musical world, playing in the capital’s clubs, at 27 he moved to Trieste.
There he started working as a translator, nonetheless never forgetting his first passion, music. He focused, however, on the writing of songs, managing to produce, in little less than a year, many new works to add to his already impressive repertoire.
In 2003 the DB
Boulevard (Point of View) were to ask him to collaborate to the composition of the work Waiting.
Thus, for a short while, he entered the
world of dance-pop music, working for renowned Italian DJs. It was in this
period that his career reached a turning point, when his friendship with
Rossano Palù (ex DB Boulevard) and Leo Ferrara became a business partnership. Together with them, he started writing the music for a number of advertisements, and successively decided to establish the Drive.
