Um...I didn't know those muscles could hurt

About Me

A Los Angeles based singer songwriter, I love writing for other artists, film and TV. The songs on this page are pop/rock "licensing friendly" and I am looking to move into a little bit harder music like the song "No One's There". I love grinding guitars, harmonies and dissonance!
In terms of writing and building up a catalog, my musical style runs the gamut from rock to country to musical theater. Drop me a line...would love to chat and see if we can't make some things happen in this city!!!
And now, back to the bio:
Lori Steele, a Mainstream Rock singer/songwriter in the vein of Liz Phair, Vertical Horizon, and Pink, is currently working on a new project. Her recently released self-titled EP, recorded by Mike Geier at the Hidden Studio in Hollywood and mastered in Austin by Grammy winner Nancy Matter (The Who, Duran Duran, Peter Gabriel, Ray Charles) at Moonlight Mastering, is currently available on Itunes, LoriSteeleMusic.com, and just about any store online.
Lori's experience stretches across many high profile projects, where she performed at such legendary venues as the Key Club in Los Angeles and the Sundance Festival crowd in Park City. She was a vocalist/violinist for XEMU Recording Artists Baby Alive, recorded with Phoenix Singer-Songwriter Maki's previous band, 'Maki', as lead female vocalist, violinist, and co-writer, and was the back-up vocalist/violinist/keyboardist for Los Angeles-Alt. Rock band, Smelly Roses.
Her strikingly personal lyrics merged with melodic timbre and unexpected driving guitars makes Lori’s blend of music truly worth listening to. It’s her passion to present relatable music in a tone that personifies ‘having been there’, and her experiences are apparent in each song she sings. Lori is a true singer-songwriter, architect in writing and arranging, energetic performing, production and marketing.
