Was formed in Mexico City in the dawn of 2002.
The founding members were Sothoth-Synth, Hastur-Bass, Luis-Drums, Anzuz-Guitar & Vocals.
They took the name of AZATHOT from the H.P. Lovecraft’s “Necronomiconâ€.
They worked on the first songs, but shortly after Anzuz left the band. Was recruited a two new members, Cthulv-Guitar & Ajbu-Guitar ; they lead with a creative and powerful vision. AZATHOT was born.
Early in 2003 a new vocalist was hired to the stage performances, some local live shows done with this line up , but was fired due to personal differences.
In March 2003 Anzuz was recruited again to concentrate 100% as vocalist.
The band was already consolidated to unleashed their own vision of Black Metal of the new born century. Soon after, the stage performances came up.
They took the stages and proved the complex dedication to forced out the reality towards the frayed ends of darkness.
In the winter of 2003 Luis left the band.
Was a time to reform and take the band to a highest level.
An old friend of Sothoth & Hastur was recruited, Ivan-Drums (Delirium/Rapture) as a session member for the very first recording “A BLAZE BLACKMOON DAEMONIA†MCD, in May 30th & June 1st of 2004. After this Ivan left.
The band was looking for someone for the drums duties. Evogan, who played the drums on Circle of Tyrants and who was working on this band with Anzuz before join the band in Autumn 2004.
Evogan is a skilled metal drummer, and contributed to AZATHOT was definitely back at the end of 2004.
Early in 2005 Sothoth left the band meanwhile Cthulv left also.
His replacement was another CofT member, he was Kolhidius-Guitar.
Some gigs done without the main atmosphere, cause the absence of a keyboard player.
In the middle of 2005 Evogan & Kolhidius quit.
The band take a long brake during the second half of 2005 and 2006 to concentrate in other projects and take care of their personal lives.
In June of 2006 some members talk about to reunite and lead the band to prepare a brand new material.
Etznab (drums) join the forces, to get the most demential AZATHOT essence ever.
The band has decided to make chages in the aligment, Nythram is the new guitar player, he is originating member of the Estaca band.
