About Me

Judging from song and dance, peanut butter and jelly, and the creation of the human embryo, collaboration has obviously been a driving force when it comes to the birth of beauty. So when college roommates, writer Jason Reynolds, and artist Jason Griffin combined forces in 2003, more of the same occurred. Well, not exactly more of the “same”, being as though neither of these guys are your typical space cadets who think they have brilliant ideas bestowed upon them from the stars, but rather more of the same innovation that is only nurtured through collaborating. After creating and self-publishing a book, SELF, (a meshing of art and poetry to display an array of emotions about two young men’s lives) Reynolds and Griffin gathered their necessities and left their homes in Maryland for what some would consider the belly of the beast, New York City. It would be there that they would hone their highly intuitive style to add a fresh flavor to the melting pot. What’s happening now?As you can see, Reynolds and Griffin finally got a myspace page, and a flickr page, and a mac.com thingy. Why? Well, as some of you know, we’ve been in and out of meetings with Harper Collins for the past year or so. In case you’re wondering who Harper Collins is, they are one of the top five publishing companies in the world. In our last meeting with Harper, we presented an idea for a book to a boardroom full of execs, pr, and marketing people. We have GREAT news… THEY ARE GOING TO PUBLISH US. We’re not sure when the book is going to hit stores, but we can tell you this – we need help spreading the word. Some books do really well because they are written by people that are already famous. Other books do well because they are controversial. Well, we’re neither famous or controversial, but we know that we have something unique and ground breaking to offer. Here’s where you come in. We have to rely on word of mouth, we have to take the humbling route once again of asking our friends, our friends’ friends, our… (you get the idea) for help. Spread the word, talk it up, we’ll provide sneak peaks of the book, pictures of the process, and information about any publicity that we encounter along the way. Stay tuned, peace.
