About Me

As the current project is "The 13th", here is a quote from the website:
"Somewhere between lust and destiny, five artists met each other in Toronto in 2004. The planets aligned, but there was no moon, so the music was dark and naked. The 13th was deliberate, not just as a band name, but as a reflection of the notion that their collective creative could be outside the traditional restrictions of popular music and still be successful. While some people are paralyzed by their superstition around the number 13, this band embraces possibility.
Being distinctive on the indie music scene, The 13th has a sound that is diverse yet refreshing and hard to pin to one genre. Convergence is a metaphor for their music that is a contagious mix of heavy guitars with industrial keys, powerful hypnotic rhythms, and eclectic and progressive vocals surrounded with risk. It sounds emotionally pagan with no specific political message, but is still proud to be The 13th regardless of the "evil doers" undertone. And they continue to test fate, push limits, and drive deep emotional boundaries, all with an attitude undaunted by what others think.
The 13th is best experienced live."

Influences: On gtr? Sil Simone, Mike Einziger, Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai, Tom Morello, Jimi Hazel, Buckethead, Hillel Slovak, John Frusciante, Tim Mahoney, Billy Howerdel, Adam Jones, Allan Holdsworth, Steve Stevens, Jake E Lee, Reeves Gabrels, Dave Matthews, Dweezil Zappa, Jeff Buckley, James "Munky" Shaffer, Wes Borland, Andy Timmons, Paul Gilbert, Ian Thornley, Steve Stevens, Vernon Reid, Jag Tanna, Joe Satriani... probably missing a ton, but anyone else I have seen / heard play gtr that has played something cool has no doubt had an influence...

Other musicians / artists / bands to name a few - all my past and present band mates, Incubus, Questlove, The Roots, 311, Alice In Chains, A Perfect Circle, Tool, At The Drive-In, Sparta, The Mars Volta, Lock-Up, Audioslave, Rage Against The Machine, Fishbone, The Deftones, Filter, Urban Dance Squad, Janes Addiction, The Deftones, Korn, Fishbone, Nine Inch Nails, Trent Reznor, Erykah Badu, 24-7 Spyz, Van Halen...
Sounds Like: my gtr playing? hopefully myself and a healthy blend of all the guitarists and musicians who have helped shape, influence and inspire my playing...

as for "The 13th" or "Brass Bikini"? have a listen - both bands feature killer female vocalists and although the music is quite different in each, both projects feature an alternative edge and style that have been aweome to play on...
