FAVOUR FAAAAVS: hopefully as undiluted as possible

About Me

MyGen Profile Generator There is plenty to look at and read while you listen...Im Pete Yelding (Mr Favours if you went to ATP), Interested? yes? read... Except the mastered version of Eye Light, which was recroded by Fairless Masterman in a Tipi at Green Man (festival where i teach didgeridoo), all this stuff you hear now is home recorded and an ongoing work in progress. I play all the instruments on the recordings and others too. Since writing and recording this music i have reworked it with various musicians to make a more varied, interesting and at some points heavier set. Adding more funny time signatures, different endings, and more tense crescenodo, where appropriate. BOOKING NOW...ME? read on...Music music music... i write music, i play music, you can hear it now. I'm not interested in making 'cool' music, or something impressive; i am interested in writing something beautiful or interesting. Sometimes it makes a political point, sometimes it conveys an emotion about something or some one, and sometimes it is just there to be heard and hopefully enjoyed.Music should be left to its own devices, sometimes it needs formulae, other times it needs to be free. Within this, it needs formulae to be free and similarly freedom to be formulaic.RADIOHEAD have been one of my favourite bands for years, and Thom Yorke has definitely provided a lot of inspiration for my own music. Other direct influences on me are: Jeff Buckley, Damien Rice, Bjork, Mogwai, and Battles. And much of my writing comes directly from experience with my band, HELLO HALLELUJAH (please add), and with Freelove and the good plant (other band i was in); I also have found inspiration from close friends' bands such as: Modus Vivendi, Orion Arm, Morphine Wedding, Our Man In The Bronze Age, and Titan SystemBecause i started the cello when i was 4 years old and have been involved in various styles of classical music since, it has had a great deal of influence on my own stuff. However, I have been brought up around world and folk music at festivals such as dance camp east, so that equally has had a great bearing on everything i write and listen to. This is why one of my favorite genres comes from both areas: MINIMALISMFOLLOW THE LINK TO ADD HELLO HALLELUJAH:MyGen Profile Generator
