The Swamis were like a slow burning post grunge balladry a la Queens of the Stone Age frissoned in a more sensitive mode then building into epic choruses through melodic West Coast croonsome rock. Outta Oxford via the Hollywood hills circa 1969! Bugbear
A great mix of material…from a slowburning post grunge ballad that reminds of QOTSA in their more sensitive mode to rasping grunge rockers. . Bugbear
So was it like to be burnt by The Swamis? Imagine an indefinable somewhere between Placebo and Pearl Jam, with a bit of Radiohead lurking in the background, all the time fighting for a piece of the limelight alongside pioneering influences like Zeppelin and Hendrix… a melodic, swaggering, intelligent rock that reeked of just having a good time. Steve Norman
A full-on rock wall of sound experience from two acoustic guitars and a drum kit did not make sense. With The Swamis, uniquely, it did. Steve norman
