Dave Fury is now booking talent for various venues in the Dallas area. Dates/times depend on venue preferences and availability. Regardless of venue and availability, I look for these general attributes:

Bands/artists capable of playing 1 to 3 hour sets with breaks. Bands who can put bodies in the clubs will get paid better. Most genres of music are welcome. I also prefer bands/artists who are reliable. Also, good communication between myself and prospective bands is required. Bands/artists with links to music samples or EPKS are preferred.

Here's what I'm NOT looking for:

Troublemakers and prima donnas. Obscene, profane, or otherwise immature and distasteful acts also will not be booked.

Original and cover bands are welcome.

Here's what I provide:

A very cool established venue with great atmosphere and great food and beverages for you to play in, on a great stage capable of supporting a good size band. House PA may be provided, but you may use your own. Discussion ahead of a booking is key. I also offer a fair method of compensation for the bands.

Dave Fury's Open Mic continues to be held on the 1st and 3rd Sundays each month at the Tipperary Inn. I also book for regular Thursday night appearances at the Tipp.

OPEN MIC AT THE TIPP specific info:

The "Open Mic at the Tipp!" is the coolest open mic event in Dallas, now starting its' second year! Come join us in 2008!

It's open to bands of all genres, singer/songwriter types, pianists, drummers, cellists, flute players, jazz trios, barber shop quartets, poets, comedians, spoken word performers, spoons players, harp players, washboard players....in OTHER WORDS, whatever you do....BRING IT! We would like to hear you! AND, we want to give local artists another avenue to get heard and gain some exposure.

It is hosted by local musician and artist Dave Fury , presently on the 1st and 3rd Sundays each month.

We have already seen a multitude of great talent on our stage, and we would love to see you!

The event starts signing up artists at around 6:45pm, with artists taking the stage at 7pm or so.

The Open Mic at the Tipp is different than any other open mic event in town. How, you ask? Because every Sunday it's on we have a FEATURED ARTIST who will take the stage at 10pm and show off what they've got until 10:30pm.

Come and add your name and sound to the list of talent at the Tipp that just keeps on growing!

The Tipperary Inn is a killer Irish Pub/restaurant that you can bring your entire family to. It sits at the corner of Live Oak and Skillman Street at 5815 Live Oak, Dallas, Texas, 75206. It's right next to "The Wine Therapist" and directly across the street from "Lakewood Landing."

It's a great time, great sounds, great food, great beer and beverages, and genuine Irish/Celtic fare, and is a great way to round out your weekend and an otherwise dull Sunday night. You know there's nothing on TV....come on out to the Tipp! Support live music! Support local artists! Best of all, do it while you have some dinner and a beer! What else is there?!?!?!

Those interested in playing should just show up and get on the list, or you can RSVP via openmikes.org. Artists interested in being the event "featured act" should email me prior to events taking place in enough time for me to hear your art if you have something available to hear. But fear not, if you don't it won't exclude you! I like to have my features lined up at least a week ahead of the event.
