..7th Vial was created in 2004 in Dallas, Texas by guitarist/songwriter Travis Mays and singer Steve Galloway. After two years of struggling to form a full lineup in Dallas, they decided to move to Chicago in the summer of 2006 with hopes of finding the perfect musicians to complete the project. Upon arrival they met Greg Nutt (bass) whose melodic style of bass playing was a perfect fit for complementing many of Mays's dark, bottom
heavy guitar tones. Nutt then referred drummer Dan Kashuck to the rest of the group who was added to the lineup almost immediately after auditioning. With the addition of Kashuck in the winter of 2006 the full band was born.7th Vial can be best recognized for their unique brand of combining metal with electronic sequencing. This is manifested in the band's first self-released three-song demo recording. (2007) Merging electronics (via synthesizer and piano, etc) with heavy guitar work has added an entire new melodic and artistic dimension to the music through which very few bands in the hardcore metal scene have ventured. Led by Steve Galloway's explosive vocals and powerful lyrics, 7th Vial will continue its pursuit to be a prominant force in the face of modern music.
