Emetic formed in Chicago in early 2003 from original members of the metal-core band Lungbrush, Pavement records (1998). Although Lungbrush shared the stage with such acts as Turmoil, All Out War, S.O.D., Slayer, Disturbed, Five Point O, Soil, Suicidal Tendencies, Machine Head, Snot and Fear Factory to name a few, creative differences caused the band to part ways with their original singer in 2002. With the addition of Nick (vocals) and Mark (guitar), the band decided to re-focus their energy towards a more brutal and honest sound.Collaborating with engineer/producer Josh Shapiro from Rax Trax Studio in Chicago, Emetic poured their time, money, and hearts into the creation of their first EP (2005) entitled, "Made for the Radio", which is a collection of 8 soulful, heartfelt, and brutal tracks that bring listeners to their knees. From the intense vocal patterns and classic hardcore/metal guitar work visible in tracks like "Force Fed" and "Inside Out" to the melodic, inspirational melodies of "Faction" and "Solid Ground", Emetic delivers a diverseness rarely seen in today's hardcore/metal scene.Since the EP was released, Emetic continues to provide a refreshing variation of the metal/hardcore hybrid style, touching on “real†issues that effect “real†people. Continuing in the vein of the “Made for the Radio†EP, the band not only addresses issues faced within the metal/hardcore scenes, but also comments on universal social/political themes. With its seasoned musicianship and hardcore work ethic, Emetic continues to be relentless in it’s pursuit to be heard.
