I've been making music since I was around 15 years old. After high school, I went to the Royal Conservatory in The Hague to study Sonology. I was trying to find a style of music that suits me best. I liked to go to (IDM) dance parties and tried to make some of that kind of music myself. But still, it wasn't completely what I was looking for to make myself. At the end of a party, it must have been around 1994, my friend Thiemo (a.k.a. TC who's having a great podcast show named Spacemusic) put on the CD 'Weathered well' from Locust and I was totally blown away by the atmosphere of this album. This was my first encounter with ambient music and from that point on I knew that this was the kind of music I was looking for and also was willing to make myself. 3 years later (1997), I produced some ambient tracks and got a record deal with an internet label called Tree-Top. I had to come up with a artist name, which became Low Energy Center. The idea behind it is that people who listen to music from Low Energy Center are away from the high energy world outside and can re-load in the low energy center. Cool huh? As I wasn't satisfied with the Tree-Top label, I decided to put my music on my own website ( www.multispace.nl ) and later on the iTunes Music Store . In 2000, I started my company called Multispace, which is a music studio. After a while, this started to go quite good, but as I was also a head lecturer at SAE (School for Audio Engineering) in Rotterdam, there wasn't much time left to produce music for Low Energy Center, which means that my latest track is from 1998!! This year (2007) I want to make at least one track again, as that's what I like the most.
