I'm trying to figure out what to do with my life. I graduated college in 2003 with a BA in Mass Communication, and now, over three years later, I'm still stuck at the "Now what?" stage. It seems like every job requires experience. I couldn't really get that while I was in college- my grades weren't good enough for internships- and now I'm on my own, so doing something unpaid isn't a viable option. Plus the area I live in is isolated if you don't have a car, which I don't. :( I'm more than willing to pack my stuff and relocate for the right job-- if I can find it.
I've loved music all my life, but it was only seven years ago, in college, that I realized I want it to be more than just entertainment for me. I I want to work with musicians and music- Like at a recording studio or a record label. I'd even be a singer if the opportunity presented itself, but I'm not counting on it. I love to sing, and I've been told that I have a lot of passion in my singing voice when I want to. I've never performed or recorded professionally, my singing is usually done when I'm alone or with friends. My singing style is melodic, although I'm also good at slightly deeper vocals. I've learned that I can't growl or scream for any length of time without totally screwing up my voice. When I get a new CD, one of the first things I do is pull out the lyric sheet and start learning them so I can sing along with the songs.
My favorite genre of music is Heavy Metal, and all of its sub-genres (ie Black, Death, Speed, Thrash, Melodic, Power, etc) I also listen to some hardcore and punk on occasion, but my loyalties lie mainly with Metal. My favorite bands are Iced Earth, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, In Flames, Nevermore, Blind Guardian, Demons and Wizards, Norther, 1349, Behexen, Frostmoon, Falkenbach, Overkill, Candlemass, Anaal Nathrakh, Children of Bodom, Manowar, Metal Church, Sentenced, Soilwork, Dimmu Borgir, Susperia, Virgin SteeleMetal Church, Candlemass.... the list goes on and on and on and on. I'm always interested in learning about new metal bands and styles of metal, it's one of my favorite pastimes.
