I called this girl and said "Hey let's start a group, and she laughed but we got it going. This girl was the truth and her name was Cheryl. After several members and name changes, Cheryl knew a girl from Brooklyn named Tamara. Tamara was a cute Chinky eyed chocolate girl whom we all just grew to love. After a few rehearsals Tamara was in. Ok, we met a producer by the name of Donald Dee Bowden (RIP) who was the foster brother of my cousin and was working with folks like "Milira" who was signed to Motown. Donald took us in the studio to record some songs and one happened to be "Its About Time”, on our first album. Leanne, Cheryl, and Tamara parted our union with Donald due to some contractual disagreements and moved on to another place. Some time after that we landed a meeting with A&R Kenny Ortiz at RCA records after he received a well thought out demo package. He made us sing LIVE and from that point we had a demo deal. The songs were so hottt, the demo deal turned into our first MAJOR record deal. Not bad for 3 girls from the hood who had no idea this was gonna happen(lol).There were so many accolades and opportunities that followed after this point and Thanks to YOU, the world now identify us as Lelee, Coko, and Taj (SWV). We disbanded in 98, and are reunited and renewed in 2006.We are stronger as ever mentally and physically and i can't forget spiritually. I spend my time now as a full time mom and being on the road with the girls. I love the stage and have taken an interest in Neo Soul Music and tv hostess. Im also interested in doing the whole reality show thing. There’s a few things in the making, some of which i cant mention, so all i can say is STAY TUNED there’s more from Lelee. Coko is married to a wonderful man (producer and drummer) Big Mike Clemmons and have two beautiful children, Jazz(my baby) and Jalen(who sings like mommy)and Taj is married to her man Eddie George (Athlete and Entrepreneur)and they have a lil boy Eriq(who wore me out with hide and seek).Me, I have two beautiful children Margaret DeVonia and a son Khiry(bad as hell). I named my daughter after my mom, so don’t trip. My daughter will be 18 in September and my son will be 16 in January. I’m not married and have never been, but I am looking forward to it one day (SOON). There is a potential somewhere (lol).Y"all just stay tuned.
